President
May is currently working on novel anti-cancer therapeutics at McGill University. She has worked at Novartis in genetics and obtained a graduate degree in Biotechnology from Harvard University.

Cliff Pavlovic
Vice-President & Chief Communications Officer
Cliff is working in the field of technology commercialization and obtained his PhD in Experimental Medicine at McGill University, where he worked on understanding the mechanims behind cystic fibrosis. He had previously obtained an MSc in microbiology at McGill University, as well as a bachelor from Université Laval in the same field.

Harry Karmouty
Chief Business Development Officer
Harry worked as a scientist at Novartis Pharma where he developed experimental models of respiratory disease, managed drug discovery programs and pioneered novel diagnostic techniques. He obtained a PhD in Pharmacology at King’s College London (UK).

Shahin Zangenehpour
Shahin is an assistant professor at McGill University in psychology and behavioural neuroscience. When not engaged in scientific research, Shahin works as an independent consultant on various projects ranging from market research for Canadian firms to feasibility studies for pharmaceutical companies based in the Persian Gulf region.

Carlos Sarmento
Director of Operations
Carlos obtained his MSc in Physiology from McGill University by assessing novel iron chelators. He brings years of experience from a CRO to his current work with a leading pharmaceutical company.

Stéphanie Page
Stéphanie currently works in the pharmaceutical industry as a Scientific Communications Manager. She obtained a Master’s with honors in Neurophysiology and a Bachelor’s in Pharmacology from Sherbrooke University. She has had the chance to collaborate with some of the major pharmaceutical companies, including Janssen, Berlex, Bayer and Abbott leading several clinical research projects and continuous medical education programs. Stéphanie also pursues her passion for training and teaching as a lecturer and assistant teacher for the Bachelor program in Pharmacology at Sherbrooke University.

Valérie Leduc
With 6 internships under her belt, Valerie is currently pursuing her doctoral studies on investigating the intriguing link between cholesterol and Alzheimer’s disease at McGill University. She previously obtained an MSc in neurological sciences from Mcgill University, a certificate in pharmaceutical drug development from Laval University and a bachelor in biochemistry from UQAM.

Laurent-Pierre Scheffer
Laurent-Pierre is a chemist in the cosmetic industry doing product development, quality assurance and regulatory affairs. He has a master in chemical engineering and a bachelor of chemistry with bio-organic option from McGill University.

Mathieu Haddad
Environment Section
Mathieu is currently a PhD candidate in microbiology at Université de Montréal and is working on hydrogen bioaugmention of synthesis gas, issued from waste gasification. He has also worked at Suez Environnement (France) and at the Biotechnology Research Institute (NRC, Montreal) in the field of waste to energy. Mathieu has obtained his Master degree in biological engineering from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (France).

Punita Mehta
Environment Section
Punita currently works at the Biotechnology Research Institute (NRC, Montreal) where she performs research for the production of energy (biogas and electricity) from waste and waste water. Punita obtained her MSc in environmental microbiology at McGill University. Her thesis was dedicated to the remediation and revegetation of the Alberta tar sands tailings.
